Wonderful Wednesday #3

For the first time in a fair while, this last week has actually been pretty good and contained lots of things that make me happy! I think it's always beneficial to document the good things that happen and to focus on those while letting the not-so-nice things go.

Played in the snow with the puppies
What was all that snow about eh? Luckily it didn't majorly affect many of my plans but I still wanted to get out in it (even though I didn't really have any reason to) so I decided to spend my lunch break on Friday playing with my dogs in the snow in my back garden. They thought it was great and took to actually just eating snow off the ground as if it was grass? It was so nice to get outside in the crisp air and even nicer to come back inside feeling refreshed for that final Friday afternoon push.

Watched The Matrix for the first time
Me and Dave were having a conversation the other day about how we really should watch The Matrix, given that we both have seen a couple of parts of it and both lie and tell people that Yes, we have seen it if we're ever asked. Well on Saturday night we decided to put it on and oh, my, goodness. It was the most EXTRA film ever! Totally not what I was expecting and some of the special effects were actually very impressive. Some aspects of it weren't all that amazing but I guess it was more the novelty of it that made it such a hit back in the day? Nevertheless we still want to watch the 2nd and 3rd film, though I'm told they aren't as good.

Had a nice shopping day with my mum and sis
Since my sister moved out and me and my mum having been running on different schedules, it's been hard to co-ordinate some time together for the three of us to do something. Last Saturday morning however it just worked out that we were all available so we went into town to do some shopping and all came away with some new bits which is always nice!

Started listening to the best new podcast
I'm a huge fan of podcasts and an even bigger fan of true crime stuff so I was so so happy when I found the podcast 'My Favourite Murder' this week! I absolutely love the two women that host it, they have a way of really effectively re-telling murder stories while keeping things light and entertaining, which can sometimes not be the case for most true crime podcasts. Honestly, I highly recommend checking it out - 10/10 from the get-go.

Got back into piano playing
Between the ages of 8 and 18, I played piano quite regularly and even managed to pass a Grade 5 piano exam. I was just getting to the stage where I was able to play pretty well when I had to stop taking lessons due to starting uni and being inundated with coursework and part-time jobs. Since then I've played piano less and less to the point where I can't remember any of the songs I used to know by heart. But this week I decided it was time to start refreshing my memory and using it as a way to relax at the end of the day and it's been so much fun! Slowly, things are starting to come back to me and it's made me more determined to ensure I don't lose this skill that I spent so long cultivating.

All in all, a very enjoyable week with a lot of 'firsts'! This weekend I'm going to watch Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them (so excited!) and go for brunch with my family.

How's your week going? Looking forward to the weekend?

Stay inspired,
